KIGER DRIVES TO A SOLID SECOND PLACE FINISH!

The 2014 Best In the Desert season kicked off this past weekend in Parker, Arizona. The first race of the season was a quick turn after the final round of the 2013 season at Parker on December 6th, with teams needing to squeeze a car prep in between a few holidays.
The #1934 of Holz/Coastal showed up ready for battle and Scott Kiger was handling driving duties for the first race of the season. Starting in 4th place out of the 33 car field — the largest to date for a BITD race— Kiger started with a solid pace and relatively clean air.
Kiger brought the familiar black & orange Polaris® RZR® XP 900 through the main pits in first place (physical) and second place cor¬rected at the end of lap one. The pack was tight, running within minutes of each other all day long. Working through the second lap the Holz/ Coastal car suffered a mechanical and gave up time to the #1919 of Jagged X and Brandon Schueler.
“These races are great. You show up to the line and you know it’s gong to be a battle. There are no run away wins in this series. There are a ton of cars out here and plenty of capable drivers. It takes a solid perfor¬mance from your car and team to pull down a win.” said Scott Kiger.
When the checkered flag flew the #1934 rolled across the box in second place. Although the Holz/Coastal is always hunting for a win, to come away with a second place finish — after suffering a mechanical— is the best you can ask for.
The Holz/Coastal RZR® XP team is supported by Polaris Industries, Walker Evans Racing, Holz Racing Products, Kroyer Racing Engines, BFGoodrich tires and Utendorfer Graphic Design.
The 2014 season is starting to ramp up.
